Thursday 21st May 2015

I'm knackered. Because I didn't really enjoy last night too much (although - what's not to love about doing a show to 2 people in Coventry on a Wednesday night?) I bought some beer on the way home to cheer myself up. Only had a couple cans, but it was enough to make this morning feel a bit slow.

Off to London this morning, aided by my good friend Simon, to film a scene with Heaven 17. They really are 80s pop icons, but they are also the nicest people you could ever meet - it was a joy to spend time with them, they were so welcoming, and so up for the idea of this film. Great bit of footage today - me playing a cajon to their electro pop, it was beautifully awkward.

You know what, this film is gonna be great; I'm onto something really special here. It's so daft, but it works - I've stumbled into a wonderful concept. Today was a joy, a lot of them are.

Then over to St Ives to give Dad some computer lessons, was a bit of a struggle, but we got there in the end. I was in St Ives anyway to play a covers gig with G and V. One of those gigs where the audience enjoys it a lot more than we do. It was just full of people of seemed to think they know me; I've probably met them once or twice before - that doesn't mean we're friends. We put on a good show tonight, we got paid well enough, we have to keep doing these shows to keep the bills paid. Let's not pretend we're passionate about them, though.
