Monday 18th May 2015

Did a few hours in the office, forgot I was logged into the company Twitter account and tweeted to all our followers that I'm rather enjoying the music of Deacon Blue at the moment, before panicking and deleting it an hour later. This is why I shouldn't be left in charge of things.

Set myself some pretty strict creative targets for the next few months; I think it's all possible though. The novel is the one which I need to work more on, though, it's been lingering for far too long. I just need a week, at a PC, to nail it. When do I have a week spare? November. That's way too late.

Evening performance was for a new freeview channel. Odd show that; rather intimidating actually. The filmed interview with Emma beforehand was nice, because she's rather good at this, but for the performance it's 3 (hot) cameras on you, several (hot) lights and a little stage - plus a carefully selected audience of 13 or so people, who were ordered to laugh a lot. It'll be shown on freeview/cable channels in 16 different counties, so potentially a big audience. Performance was fine; I played it safe, it was very professional of me. So professional to the extent that it was unspectacular and I thought it was a little underwhelming. I think that's what they needed, though, so it was very much a case of 'job done'. Probably won't be tuning in, though.
