Popped into the office for a couple hours to work on the social media stuff, and then off to Welwyn Garden City for the latest sacking for the film. Today it was Nik Kershaw - a genuine 80s pop star with hits and everything. A joy to film with, he got the idea of it completely; one of the easiest sackings we've had yet.
Then off to Cranfield, where we were playing the launch of a brand new evening. As with anything new there was teething problems - the sound was a real issue in the soundchecks and we felt a bit of tension in the air. It was also weird, as a professional band, having our somewhat stressful soundchecks in front of a full audience; why were they let in? It all felt a little awkward. With that in mind, we kind of weren't really looking forward to the show too much - but it was fine, more than fine in the end. Another cracking gig - this is a band on absolute fire at the moment, a sellout show (seems to be the norm for this band), so, so tight up there. A loud, rocking show with some wonderful tender moments. Very proud. Set: Fine Life, Face in the Water, We Don't Talk Anymore, She Says, Take a Ride, Fire, Skin and Bone, Standing Next to Me, Hold On, Old Man (cover), Bonnie and Clyde, Marathon Man, Ghost Town, Another Universe, Shut Up and Dance, Beautiful You; Grown Up a Little (encore), Somebody to Love (encore, cover)
