Thursday 7th April 2016

Worked for a few hours from home in the morning, and then spent the day panic rehearsing for the premiere of the new show in Beccles.

Having only performed the show from script, learning it all in time was a ridiculous task. I did - shaky as anything and the rhythm isn't quite there yet, but the Beccles crowd are lovely and quite forgiving. An odd night, it was more of a cabaret evening, they weren't exactly vocal in their enjoyment of the show but still, got through it.

This show can be so much better, you know. On the way home I drove without music, instead just running the show, talking through it to myself. It has some brilliant moments in it, but the performance needs gusto. It'll have it soon.
