Caught up on a bit of work, and then back on the road for night 3 of the 'Make or Break...' tour.
Southampton - back at my favourite tour venue (The Art House), nice to see our wonderful hosts Jani and Bik again, two of the loveliest people in venue management. Good food (vegetarian stuff, but I gave it go and it was actually nice), perfect sized room. Not a huge turnout but it doesn't need to be when it's a space that size - 10 or 11 people feels busy, which it did. And 3 of them saw me there last time and seem to have become supporters of my work, which is nice. They laughed at all the right times.
Solo show was the best it's ever been, perhaps a bit fast in places but the new bits I've been trying out (notably the 'Tracy' song) are starting to gel now, meaning I can cut down on the bits that haven't been getting laughs (speeding ticket rants, mostly).
The Make or Break... performance in the second half was messier and joyously shambolic than ever before; we're all getting a bit cocky with it now, I've added more safety nets to the structure meaning we can go off on wild tangents and still get back to the plot. Eventually. Great fun, too much fun? We overran quite a lot. My favourite moment was when I threw a CD across the room and a puppy tried to fetch it for me...
Fun night, just like it was the last time I was there - I just love that venue.
Home by 2am.
