Things felt a bit tense last night, but seemed better at the trio gig this afternoon. Before the gig I had an early start, taking Mum to get her haircut and shopping and stuff...she can see that I'm tired, I think she's finally worked out that I'm a good son.
Afternoon gig for a friend of a friend's 40th birthday with G+V. Off stage any problems were kind of talked about, in a relaxed, let's not argue sort of way. The message is fairly simple: we all spend a lot of time together, we're gonna disagree sometimes, we're gonna snap every now and then, but the bigger picture is that we all love each other really and it's all gonna be fine. As was the gig; covers stuff, generic function fodder, but the audience loved it and it was an easy show with a couple bookings to come from it. These shows pay well, I'm happy to go along with it.
Evening went to see the amazing Max and Ivan, and then didn't enjoy the karaoke afterwards.
