Had a really good freelancing today; I've been drifting a bit with that but today I really got stuck in and actually did some good for the company, I think.
Confirmed a brilliant offer for the murder mystery show in a cracking venue (I've been talking to them for the best part of a week) and generally feel quite on top of all of the projects at the moment.
Evening gig with the band in Royston. Cracker of a gig; okay, so it does feel like off stage we're not quite the tight close group we used to be (we travelled and ate separately, for example - that would never have happened before) but onstage we're totally unstoppable. The material for album 3 is utterly superb and it feels like we're totally nailing it, we opened with a brand new track and also played 3 other new tunes tonight alongside the stuff that the audience were there for. The 'surprise' cover of The Chain (that we'd bashed out a few times in rehearsals recently) felt rushed and sloppy but on the whole...yeah, we have to keep this going. 2 standing ovations and a LOT of CD sales afterwards.
Home by 1am, which for any sort of gig is a victory.
