Monday 23rd March 2015

Updated my many sites with new shows and new gigs, replied to as many emails/messages as possible before realising the morning had nearly gone. Popped into town to pay in the cash from last week's shows, that'll keep the bank manager happy (not that it's actually the bank manager, of course, they just say it is in films) and failed to win on a scratch card. One day, though I will. I buy one a week, on a Monday because, deep down, I probably do like having a routine after all.

Into Cambridge for a lovely sacking with my mate Bryan, aka The Prisoner of Mars. He was proper weird today with this one, in a good way, it's a treat of a sacking - my first psychedelic one, he's a really good actor. We then had a beer and it was nice to catch up, haven't seen Bryan for a while.

Then, following a nice spot of dinner in town with my landlord who was also killing time in between appointments, I was fired by Gig-L, who are an all-girl band. The joke being I have to wear a wig to see if I can fit in. It's a cheap joke, but adds to the feel-good nature of this movie and worked well, and they were all so lovely to me.

Got back and invited the whole world to my quiz night, which is this Thursday. Just the two of us attending at this stage, could be awkward, especially as I'm hosting.

And then spent 3 hours emailing more bands for the '50 Ways...' film. I've even asked Stephen Fry, you never know. Had a very interesting reply from the manager of the saxophonist of one of my favourite bands ever who was interested as the sax player does solo stuff, we ended up speaking for about an hour (in the early hours of the morning, but that's rock n roll admin for you) and they reckon they could actually get me the whole band. That's all I can say at this stage, but they are one of the biggest bands of all time. If I get this, I will explode with joy.
