Thursday 19th December 2019

Up early to be a guest on a local radio station, which was glorious (for my ego) as the host clearly likes what I do and let me plug, extensively, all of these projects.

Then over to a different part of town where A and myself had another look at an amazing house and we later put an offer for in for it.

After that it was all about the WAS gig. As always, a long soundcheck and issues with parking, but there was always a sense that this gig was going to be fine, especially after the near-disaster that was the London show.

We had a great night, I mean, kinda cheating because it was mostly Christmas songs and the arrangements were void of any banana skins, but still - playing to over 500 people, with over 100 singers, in a church with tricky acoustics, is still trickier than your average gig. My band buddies, Steve and Will, were both totally on it, and our musical director, Andrea, seemed more relaxed than ever. World-famous percussionist Evelyn was full of praise afterwards and host, Griff Rhys Jones, seemed like such a nice man.

A LONG day, but all worthwhile.
