Saturday 30th March 2019

Regular Saturday morning double lesson which was great - they were buzzing about Thursday's gig.

Quick jass rehearsal with the lads (the first time in about a month I could make it) and then the first of two HG preview shows. The first one was around Claire's house - her son was my first ever student and Claire and myself have become very good friends. She invited a lot of people over, which freaked me out a bit, but they were all totally onside and got what I was trying to achieve straight away. It's a show that involves me running a lot on stage and is physically exhausting but it makes for good entertainment. I was given a fancy bottle of wine as a thank you and I think I've made a few more 'admirers' there.

Dashed home and then the next performance, this time at our house. Much tighter, as much as it can be considering I still have a script in my hand. Doing this show twice in a row nearly killed me. It's really starting to work, I just need to learn it and it's 34 pages of dialogue. The show opens properly on April 10th. Help.

Got a bit merry with our guests afterwards, especially J, the head of music at the college, and we found ourselves having an impromptu jam at 1am.
