Early start at the small school, my regular Friday place where I've never had any issues. Until today. Nobody told me there was a school trip on, so 5 of my 7 students were unavailable.
That left me with 3 hours to spare in the town, so cashed in some wages, had some lunch, replied to a bunch of emails and started working on a novel whilst sat in a supermarket carpark.
Regular Friday school was great, an easy two hours.
Then dashed back into Cambridge for a private lesson but there was absolutely no parking outside or near the house whatsoever so the lesson had to be pulled. Got home and sent quite a passive aggressive email to the parents about the logistics of it all. I lost two hours of all of this.
Corporate gig with Amazon next - I don't normally do corporate stuff, and, as I'm far from conventional, this wasn't a gig I was particularly looking forward to (but great for the CV). It was actually really fine - they were quite a nervous audience and I went in quite loud on them, but it all settled and it was a tight 15 minutes with big laughs in the right places. Massive audience, not used to this, but lots of people said nice things afterwards.
From there over to record the audio bits for the HG show. It's so complex, but luckily I have Alan H and Kate at my disposal, alongside Alan M. They all TOTALLY get my work, much laughter in the room, everyone happy. This show needs a lot of learning from me, but it'll come together just about in time.
