I've had my record label hat on most of the day, which isn't all that different to my comedy producer hat. Obviously, there are no actual hats here, it's just a different mindset. Although, as I've just explained, not that different. It's just basically me sending lots of emails. Lots and lots of them. I get a feeling that booking shows for a fun acoustic trio who play a set list full of the songs you want to hear is a lot easier than trying to get slots for an awkward dude who isn't quite sure if he's theatre, comedy or storytelling.
Once I'd sent out about 80-odd emails, after re-writing the band biog and making sure everything is tidy, I got back to booking solo shows, and also trying to get some media interest for this Friday's performance in Norwich. I also made sure that every venue on the tour so far has the poster design, and generally got frustrated that certain people haven't got back to me yet to confirm things before realising it's only been a couple days and there was a weekend in the middle and I basically need to calm down a bit.
And then suddenly the day is over, lost in a sea of admin. Can't wait to drum all day tomorrow.
