I've got so many ideas at the moment, for new plays, for sitcoms, and it feels like, on the back on of a very successful Edinburgh, I can do this. But I can't because I'm working so hard as a teacher.
4 hours at my least favourite school, which was better than normal today, 2 hours at the other school which was fine, then drove to Bourn for a private lesson, then Bottisham, then Girton, then Cambridge. Left the house at 7.55am, home by 9pm.
But in the final lesson, as the kid prepares for our showcase gig next week, the Dad watched and cried because his son is drumming SO AMAZINGLY. I get quite a few parents crying. His Mum said to me, in slightly broken English, "I know you work hard, but you're so into this, aren't you? Even now, so enthusiastic."
She's probably right, this is probably my calling in life, I probably do enjoy it. I just want to do the other stuff, as well, but...time.
