Up early with SUCH A HANGOVER but my morning student is awesome, so alive, it's hard for it not to be infectious. He did so well today, as did the second private student after (and also his dad, who does the last ten minutes but clearly wants a full hour of drumming himself). Started working on reggae today, it was lovely.
Then the first of two festive gigs, the first in Cambridge (inside a shopping centre, never ideal but was more than fine) and then the second outside a few villages away. Lots of confusion over our timeslot and we ended up still being in the pub when we were supposed to be onstage, having sound checked two hours earlier, but it was all fine in the end. I love my new bass pedal, which is identical to my previous one (but it lasted 9 years, which is pretty cool).
Home by 9pm, wrote till very late...
