Whilst I was at the fringe, Mum (on the phone) was upset about the fact that she was alone for a month, no real family to spend time with her whilst her friends were out with families at the seaside and all that, so today I surprised her by offering to take her to the seaside. My Saturday lessons resume soon so this was a good time to do so.
And then the A14 was shut and it felt like the hottest day of the year and in the end we didn't go to the seaside, but to a popular park/river about half an hour away but she still had a lovely time. The dog did, too, which helps. I feel like a good son. I know she struggles, a lot, but it was honestly amazing to spend time with her and have my phone off for a bit.
Home in time to go to the cinema with A, we saw 'Yesterday' which was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours, even if I won't be rushing to watch it again.
