Easing my way back into the teaching/real life stuff; the students go back to school later this week and I'm back in next week. I reckon things will get quite intense, then, as I've taken on more than ever with the private students as well as an extra school. And so much drumming stuff.
This week, though, it's just the private students.
The day started brilliantly with a cracking meeting with Jonnie about the HG feature film. He saw a Cambridge preview, loved it and turned to his wife and said, "this is my first feature" - he's been waiting for a while for a project like this to come along and spent most of the meeting convincing me that it's a good idea. I didn't need much convincing. Budget of £25k (which for a feature is nothing, but enough for it to work), a team of three writers (Jonnie, his brother and me) staying as faithful to the original theatre script, Netflix/Amazon Prime release pretty much already in the bag, DVD/Blu-Ray release, cinema premiere. 2-week shoot in May 2020, with me still playing Harvey. Pretty exciting stuff, yeah?
Five private lessons followed (first one: lovely, second one: messy in structure but nice to see them again, third one: wasn't in, they've since apologised and will pay either way, fourth one: really productive, just excellent, fifth one: parents saw the play and spent the whole lesson telling me how much they enjoyed it, even though I was just trying to teach their son).
