Turned down yet another 'day job', but my first day freelancing confirmed I've made the right decision - lovely people, so flexible (I pick the hours I work, around 20 a week) and I get to do creative writing stuff. And I get paid daily, which is brilliant/needed.
Evening gig with the band at The Junction in Cambridge. Amazing sound, brilliant audience - absolutely rammed, this is the best the band has ever sounded, and the best band I've ever been in. Heartbreakingly good tonight, I came incredibly close to collapsing in between the last song and the encore as I had run out of water and was working really, really hard up there under the hot lights. Amazing gig, best ever. The culmination of years of hard work, fighting against line-up changes, getting through it. This was a victory. Fucking wow. Set: Fine Life, Face in the Water, We Don't Talk Anymore, She Says, Take a Ride, Fire, Skin and Bone, Standing Next to Me, Hold On, Old Man (cover), Bonnie and Clyde, Marathon Man, Ghost Town, Another Universe, Shut Up and Dance, Beautiful You, Grown Up a Little (encore), Somebody to Love (encore, cover).
