Saturday 18th April 2015

I've somehow ended up with 2 part-time job offers from those emails I sent last night, awesome!

Afternoon gig with Claudia at Relevant Records. Part of the record store day thingy. the amazing Stornoway were on before us and naturally most of the crowd were there for them. We didn't have a huge turnout as a result, but enough for it to work. Played well, always a pleasure to play those songs. Set: The Love I Give, No Strings, Caramel (cover), Happy, Glory Box (cover), Some Days, No Peace in Dreams, She, Staying in Tonight.

Then off to band rehearsals in Barton ahead of the Junction gig next week. Sounds good.

Then evening gig with the band at a private party; somebody who won us in an auction. Outside in a freezing cold marquee. Sound was really bad but I was made to use rods, not sticks. Was drowned out completely, even made mistakes on purpose to see if anybody noticed/cared, they didn't but when I explained this to them later on it may have caused a bit of tension. Unprofessional? Maybe, but it's a rare situation when the drums are being drowned out. I love this band, but I'm allowed an off day. Not a great evening. Set: not sure, I was too cold to care.
