Woke up late, strolled around Paris for a bit...it's not such a bad life, is it? Took a boat trip, went to see that big tower thingy that everyone raves about. Had an excessive lunch, had a few beers.
In the evening went to see Joe Jackson, which was the main reason why we were there, really. Well, it's certainly an excuse to head over there at least. JJ has been my idol since I first heard music, his Night and Day album was the reason why I became a drummer. Seeing him in a different country is just an unreal opportunity.
Massive ticket cock-up, and it turns out all of us who bought from a certain website (a legitimate one, as recommended by JJ on his own page) had huge delays getting in as the tickets themselves weren't printed. A lot of us got angry, having to wait 40 minutes in the hallway of the venue and fearing we'd miss the show, but they eventually got everyone in just before the start.
The gig itself was just 2 hours of absolute bliss. A musician who is now in his 60s but still has so much desire to be creative...I mean, he could just go onstage and play the hits every night, but instead he's still writing, arranging, putting on a glorious show. So much to enjoy, so inspiring.
Wow.
I want go again.
(Paris is also generally quite nice).
