Next weekend it's the 2nd year anniversary of Dad's death, and I just get the sense that mum is struggling with things at the moment, so took her out for the day. Took her to get her hair cut, which basically means waiting outside the hairdressers for 2 hours in the car with the dog. I was in somebody's way - they needed me to move because she had a flat battery and needed the space I was in, which was cool. However, when reversing, I drove straight into her. Luckily, there was no damage to her car (and, not being blunt, but she looked like somebody who could have me in a fight), my car had a few deep scratches around the back bumper but look...it's 20 years old, I didn't mind too much. I should really look when I'm reversing, though, things could have been a lot worse.
Whilst waiting for mum in various car parks of various shops, I had THE BEST IDEA EVER for a new novel, so started work on that in a notepad. Next year, there will be lots of novels. Probably too much Richards for the world to handle but you know, deal with it, it's happening.
Met up with Marcus and Rob for drinks in the evening, really great to catch up, we should do this more often.
