SO MANY EMAILS, TAKING OVER MY LIFE!
(which means I have gigs coming in, so I am of course grateful).
Did about 2 hours 'proper' work, and then decided to address the soap opera problem. We can't get the full cast together, at all, ever to finish the pub scenes. I started editing the footage together anyway in the hope it looks like a show and then ideas started coming to me...ended up re-jigging the plot, big style, totally dropping one of the 'families' in the soap along the way and pretty much cutting out any mention of them. Got all excited as the plot suddenly felt it was uncluttered and working again.
Popped out and had a lovely dinner with Meg, and then came back. Suddenly it was nearly 4am and I was still editing it...but boy does it look good. It's no longer a soap, it's a movie, and it's the best movie I've ever made.
