Up early to carrying on proofing the novel. The really good thing is: I'm really into it, I'm enjoying reading it for pleasure, I care about the characters. The bad thing is: it's taking bloody ages.
Did that for a few hours, and then off to meet up with the band for an evening wedding gig. Nice venue, we all seemed a bit flat - not sure why, maybe it's because wedding/corporate gigs don't excite us as much? The start of 'Valerie' was alarming - Gaf's count-in got me all confused and we came in on different beats, it was basically reggae. As the rest of the band followed my lead and rescued the song, Gaf seemed to decide that he preferred the reggae and did the whole song on the off-beat, like a legend. I later got confused when Vix introduced a track as a 'bit of Tina Turner' and I started the groove for 'Wanna Dance With Somebody' - getting confused between Tina Turner and Whitney Houston. Oh how we laughed!
Not a bad night, though, was home by 10.30pm and got paid well enough for it.
Got back and spent another 3 hours proofing the novel.
